While many are waxing boards or skis and praying for snow, a select few are scheming about road racing. There was a great turn out at the BCC “So you want to race” meeting—20 to be exact, 13 team members and 5 board members. The goal of the meeting was to provide information to current racers along with those looking to get started with racing.
Attendees received the 2009 BCC Racing Bible telling about the team; background, 09 race focus, requirements, costs, & web technologies available. We’re excited for the next race season as the team’s focus has sharpened. To improve racing performance we’re planning training rides coordinated with super series rides, as well as some other goodies. It also looks like there will be a group of masters women looking to get into racing.

Hey I missed the meeting ( "so you want to race") I just logged onto your website though I've been a member for several months. I'm not sure I'm interested in 'racing' but I'm definitly interested in improving my PR's!
Recently I investigated a 'personal' cycle coach could I benefit similarly with the team training rides and w/o's? How do I find out more?
Thanks for your time,
lonnie
Come out this spring and ride and train with us. Rogers
I've always benefited from team training more than my personal training. My personal training tends to put me in a rut that doesn't let me improve past a certain point. Training with a team pushes me out of my "safety zone" & way past what I could accomplish myself. Plus it's harder to come up with an excuse when my friends are saying Are you gonna be there??
Whether you want to race or just ride faster come on out! We would love to have you ride with us.
Thanks Steve and Travis for responding. Today is the biggest snow storm of the year, I can't imagine riding outside for 3-4 months ( am I a wimp?) but I'm curious about buying a 'bike trainer' for in house training during the winter. Any suggestions for type, price etc? I'm on a budget! Also does team training offer a wt lifting sport specific regime? I would like some guidance to help me get stronger / faster over the next 4 months.
Thanks I look forward to hearing from you.)
Lonnie ps tell me about the Masters Women division???
Hey Lonnie,
There's a bike trainer on KSL for $70 right now. They show up for about that price pretty often.

We're all doing our own think for winter training this year but weigh training is very important especially core training. If you're not already please sign up on our email group. http://groups.google.com/group/bcc-racing There are more people over there who can help you out. Especially with our newly formed women's racing team.
Also I think between now & spring there will be plenty of cold dry sunny days to go riding. Or snowshoeing. :)
